Jenax Inc signs an MoU with Pusan National University Hospital

Jenax Inc, a manufacturer of flexible rechargeable batteries, has announced on February 26th that it has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pusan National University Hospital. The two organizations expressed their intention to cooperate for development of next-generation medical devices and services through combining Pusan National University Hospital’s medical services technology and Jenax’s flexible battery technology.
Pusan National University Hospital and Jenax will actively cooperate in product development and clinical research that meet global standards through exchange of their expertise on medical service and battery solution.

Jenax has been actively collaborating with companies in related industries on wearable and IoT devices integrated with printed or flexible substrates in the field of healthcare. Wearable medical devices often require lighter weight and greater safety than products in other industries due the characteristics and usage location of such devices. The company has proved enhanced safety of J.Flex—Jenax’s flexible rechargeable batteries—through various tests such as nail penetration, impact and salt-water immersion tests. With its superior flexibility and safety, J.Flex is expected to be a highly sought-after energy storage solution in the healthcare industry.

Hyung Hee Kim, Director of Medical Research at Pusan National University Hospital, said, “In the future, demand for IoT-based telemedicine and wearable medical devices will increase. Jenax’s flexible battery, which is thinner, bendable and safer than conventional batteries, can be a key technology in this industrial shift.” EJ Shin, Head of Strategic Planning of Jenax, said, “We expect to show differentiated competitiveness of Jenax in the smart medical field through the cooperation with Pusan National University Hospital.”
This MoU with Pusan National University Hospital is a result of Jenax’s passion and commitment to provide optimized power solutions for various devices to meet the needs of the aging population and personal care that is accelerating worldwide. Jenax and Pusan National University Hospital plan to build a portfolio of patient-friendly smart medical products.
